Oregon Health Policy Board to hold monthly meeting Feb. 5 in Portland


February 1, 2013 -- What: The Oregon Health Policy Board will hold its monthly meeting on February 5 in Portland. The board will receive an update on federal health reform and hear updates on Oregon Health Authority legislative activity and on coordinated care organization Transformation Plans. The Health Care Workforce Committee will also present a set of recommendations. Public testimony will be heard during the meeting, beginning at 3:45 p.m.

When: Tuesday, February 5, 1 to 4 p.m.

December 13, 2012 -- Rhonda Busek is joining the Oregon Health Authority on Jan. 15 as the deputy to Judy Mohr Peterson, director of Medical Assistance Programs.

“Rhonda will bring a unique set of skills and abilities to this position that will truly help us all move down the path of health system transformation,” according to an announcement by Mohr Peterson. “We’re very excited about having her join us.”

Klamath County Still at Odds Over Mental Health

The Oregon Health Authority has sent in a second mediator to resolve the ongoing issues between county officials and Cascade Health Alliance

December 5, 2012 -- A last-ditch effort is under way in Klamath County to mediate the dispute over mental health services for the nearly 13,000 people on the Oregon Health Plan.

State officials have intervened once again, sending in another mediator, while residents continue circulating petitions, asking the Oregon Health Authority to re-open the bidding process and allow a new coordinated care organization to emerge. But that won’t happen while the mediation process continues, according to Patty Wentz, spokesperson.

Public forum on health system transformation progress

November 28, 2012 -- The first coordinated care organizations (CCO) started in Oregon on August 1, 2012 in several areas of the state. Now, about 90 percent of Oregon Health Plan members are served by a CCO.

The Oregon Health Policy Board is holding an extended public meeting in December focused on the new coordinated care organizations. Oregon Health Plan members, community stakeholders, and the general public are invited to attend or watch online.
