Non-Traditional Health Worker Steering Committee meets Jan. 7, 14 in Salem, Portland

January 3, 2013 -- The Oregon Health Policy Board’s Non-Traditional Health Worker (NTHW) Steering Committee will meet January 7 in Salem and January 14 in Portland. The meetings are open to the public and also will be accessible via webinar and teleconference. Public comments will be taken at the end of each meeting, and also can be submitted in writing.

January 3, 2013 -- The Oregon Health Policy Board’s Non-Traditional Health Worker (NTHW) Steering Committee will meet January 7 in Salem and January 14 in Portland.

The meetings are open to the public and also will be accessible via webinar and teleconference. Public comments will be taken at the end of each meeting, and also can be submitted in writing.

The committee will discuss the NTHW program’s administrative rules at both meetings.

The Legislature in 2011 approved a law that sets training standards for doulas, community health workers, peer wellness specialists, personal health navigators and other non-traditional health care workers. A 2012 law requires that they be integrated into the state’s health care transformation program and coordinated care organizations.
