WHAT: Oregon Public Health Week 2013, a weeklong series of events organized by the state’s public health partners as part of National Public Health Week to promote continuing health and wellness for all Oregonians.
February 1, 2013 -- What: The Oregon Health Policy Board will hold its monthly meeting on February 5 in Portland. The board will receive an update on federal health reform and hear updates on Oregon Health Authority legislative activity and on coordinated care organization Transformation Plans. The Health Care Workforce Committee will also present a set of recommendations. Public testimony will be heard during the meeting, beginning at 3:45 p.m.
When: Tuesday, February 5, 1 to 4 p.m.

January 11, 2013 -- While the rate of Oregonians reporting flu-like symptoms is on the rise, heralding an early start to the 2012-2013 flu season, state health officials say this year’s flu activity level remains moderate across the state, and effective vaccine is available.
January 3, 2013 -- The Oregon Health Policy Board’s Non-Traditional Health Worker (NTHW) Steering Committee will meet January 7 in Salem and January 14 in Portland.
The meetings are open to the public and also will be accessible via webinar and teleconference. Public comments will be taken at the end of each meeting, and also can be submitted in writing.
November 28, 2012 -- The first coordinated care organizations (CCO) started in Oregon on August 1, 2012 in several areas of the state. Now, about 90 percent of Oregon Health Plan members are served by a CCO.
The Oregon Health Policy Board is holding an extended public meeting in December focused on the new coordinated care organizations. Oregon Health Plan members, community stakeholders, and the general public are invited to attend or watch online.
November 9, 2012 -- The Oregon Health Policy Board will hold its monthly meeting November 13 in Portland. The board will hear an overview of coordinated care organization implementation and a presentation on alignment opportunities between the board and Oregon’s Early Learning Council. The board also will continue its ongoing discussion of community health initiatives. Public testimony will be heard beginning at 11:45 a.m.

August 29, 2012 -- Two new coordinated care organizations have been provisionally certified to serve Oregon Health Plan clients, officials announced today.
