Chris DeMars Joins OHA’s Transformation Center

She’s leaving Northwest Health Foundation after managing its healthcare reform focus area.

June 5, 2013 -- Chris DeMars has accepted a new position as Director of Systems Innovation with the Oregon Health Authority's Health System Transformation Center. She spent most of the past eight years with the Northwest Health Foundation managing the Foundation’s healthcare reform focus area.

Northwest Health Foundation Names Donalda Dodson to Board

New Board Member Brings Background in Early Child Development and Health

January 24 – The Northwest Health Foundation has named Donalda Dodson to its governing board of directors, following a selection process overseen by its nominating committee.

Dodson is executive director of the Oregon Child Development Coalition, one of the largest early childhood care and education networks in Oregon, and the state’s sixth largest non-profit organization. The Coalition serves over 4,000 children and families in 13 Oregon counties each year. Previously, she was administrator of the Oregon Office of Family Health. 

Northwest Health Foundation Invites Letters of Interest for Healthy Eating Active Living Grants

First round of grants will focus on community engagement, allowing communities to decide what they need for healthier living

June 21, 2012 -- The town of Odell sits just five miles away from the famously active community of Hood River. But until recently, Odell residents – 40 percent of whom are Latino – lacked one of the key components to staying active themselves: a city park.

That changed last summer, due to funds from Oregon State Parks and the Northwest Health Foundation – as well as a community engagement process the Foundation hopes to see other communities repeat with a newly available grant award.
