In case you haven’t heard, today, Nov. 27, is #GivingTuesday, a day singled out for donating to nonprofits like The Lund Report.

We’re in the middle of a challenge grant and need your help. Donations have trickled in but we’re far from matching the $40,000 we received from generous donors weeks ago. We need to match that amount by the end of the year.

That money will help us to continue to serve you well

We’ve made many changes this year, including the hiring of Lynne Terry, a veteran, award-winning journalist, as our new editor-in-chief. She has defined our new mission statement as striving to deliver exclusive in-depth, insider information to make the health-care system more accountable and transparent and better for all.

She hired Jessica Floum, an award-winning reporter who formerly worked at The Oregonian/OregonLive, as a news and investigative reporter. She’s also brought a contributor onboard, Christian Wihtol, another respected, veteran journalist. We are now looking for a health/legislative reporter to dig deep in the upcoming session in Salem. Attracting the right talent requires that we pay a competitive wage, and by donating you will help us draw the right person to follow developments and identify trends that will affect everyone’s life.

We spend almost all our income on journalism -- not on bells and whistles. We don’t strive for clicks; we strive to give you the kind of information you need to have a better understanding of the health-care industry and to help to make it better.

Producing well-written, substantive stories takes time, talent and effort. It also takes money. We want to secure our financial position now to ensure that we remain a vital news source in the future. There are no other news sources that do what we do.

Please help. Follow this link to donate, and click here to subscribe, if you haven’t already. And thank you. We couldn’t do this without you.
