About five years ago, Oregon adopted an innovative Medicaid system that enabled the state to expand health care to nearly 1 million people today. But the system does not have a steady source of funds. This year Oregon's Medicaid funding gap was $950 million.

January 26, 2011 -- Pam Vukovich, the chief financial officer for Legacy Health System, is retiring. Scott Johnson, vice president of finance, is stepping into her shoes on an interim basis while a process recruitment is under way.
Vukovich, who spent more than 27 years with Legacy, was its interim CEO in 2008 following the departure of Bob Pallari. She also has been chief administrative officer for its system office for the past several years.
