June 2, 2010 -- Gary Schnabel, RPh, RN, has become chairperson of the executive committee of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy, after stepping down as the association’s president. In that role, he spearheaded actions that will help pharmacists become the primary providers of medication therapy in the future. For his service, Schnabel received the president’s award during the annual awards dinner held in Anaheim, CA recently. In 1999, he became executive director of the Oregon State Board of Pharmacy, having joined the board as a compliance officer in 1994.
