This Thanksgiving season, CareOregon, the state’s largest provider of services to Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) members, has awarded $220,000 in grants to organizations focused on culturally specific or trauma-informed services in health care, education, and social services.
January 18, 2013 -- Joanne Fuller, Multnomah County’s Chief Operating Officer, has joined the board of directors for CareOregon.
January 14, 2012 -- CareOregon’s board of directors named Patrick Curran as its new chief executive officer on January 11, 2013. Curran has served as interim CEO for the past month, following the retirement of David Ford.
Curran has been with CareOregon since 2003, holding a variety of positions over the years, including Provider Services Director, Medicare Director and, most recently, Senior Director of Business Strategy and Development.
December 5, 2012 -- There are a lot of smiling faces beaming from the corner of Southwest Fifth Avenue and Oak Street in Portland.
They are the faces of CareOregon members young and old, male and female, healthy and health-challenged. In photographs that cover the street-level windows of the CareOregon Building, they are a constant reminder of the people the health plan serves, both to the health plan staff and the casual passersby.
November 26, 2012 -- David E. Ford, CEO since 2003, has announced his retirement from CareOregon, and the board has named Patrick Curran as his interim successor. Ford will retire at the end of the year.
July 31, 2012 -- The Oregon Health Authority has approved the application for Coordinated Care Organization (CCO) status for Jackson County Coordinated Care Organization, which will conduct business as Jackson Care Connect. Jackson Care Connect will begin coordinating services for Oregon Health Plan (OHP) members beginning September 1.
CCOs are designed to bring together under one umbrella the providers, hospitals, health plans and social agencies that currently operate separately.
