OMA Building Up for Sale

The Partners Group, one of its three owners, has outgrown its current space.

The Oregon Medical Association building in the Tigard Triangle has come onto the market, with Portland Colliers International as the listing agent.

The building is actually owned by three tenants – the Oregon Medical Association, the Oregon Health Care Association and The Partners Group – and was built in 2007 by the OMA. The 33,963 square foot building has an estimated value of $3.59 million.

It’s for sale because The Partners Group, has outgrown its current space, and the real estate market is quite favorable, Jim Carlson, president of the Oregon Health Care Association, told The Lund Report.

“If we get a good offer, we’ll take it, but we’re not in a situation where we need to do anything,” he said. “We’re open to purchasing another building or leasing space.”

Because of its growth over the past seven years, The Partners Group has opened two other off8ices along Kruse Way in Tigard.

“Our desire is to bring everyone together,” said Rod Cruickshank, president and CEO of The Partners Group. “When you have different locations, it’s not efficient. This place isn’t big enough for us.”

With 145 employees, The Partners Group has seen solid growth across the board, and is the largest independent consulting firm in Oregon, helping large employers purchase traditional benefits for their employees, he said.

“The world of healthcare benefits has become super complicated with the advent of the Affordable Care Act,” Cruickshank said. His firm also does individual planning for physicians, dentists and executives, handles commercial property and casualty insurance and does data analytics and consulting for hospitals and large employers. They also have an office in Bellevue.

“We’re testing the market right now to see what it yields us,” Cruickshank said. “In a perfect world, we’d find ourselves out of this building and in a larger footprint by the end of 2018.”
