June 20, 2012 — On Tuesday, June 19, 11 organizations, plus Marion and Polk counties, signed an agreement to create Willamette Valley Community Health, LLC, seeking authorization from the state as a Coordinated Care Organization to serve Medicaid patients in Marion and Polk Counties.

SALEM — Dr. Nancy Boutin, a Salem radiation oncologist, has been awarded Marion-Polk County Medical Society’s prestigious President’s Achievement Award. The President’s Achievement Award recognizes doctors who have accomplished a noble deed in their lifetime. As a 22-year veteran of the Salem medical community, Boutin was instrumental in starting and pioneering the Palliative Care program at Salem Health, which focuses on improving comfort and quality of life for patients who are facing life threatening or chronic illness.

February 6, 2012 -- WVP Health Authority is seeking a $6.3 million grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) to launch a “Power of Wellness” project as part of its ongoing commitment to create a quality community-based care organization for the Mid-Willamette Valley.
