Once again The Lund Report is credited with bringing yet another breaking news development to the surface.

This time it was our legislative reporter, Chris Gray, who discovered that James Raussen, who had been hired to run the Oregon Educators Benefit Board, had a checkered past, having ties to a former boss now in prison when he was a consultant in the Chicago comptroller’s office.

Dave Fiore, a former OEBB member, attributed Gray for bringing this development lo the board’s attention in an article in the Portland Tribune on Tuesday.

Raussen resigned six months later following an investigation by the Oregon Health Authority and supposedly accepted illegal gifts and improperly spent state funds.

Stories like this come about because of our hard-working diligent reporters. And you – our readers -- make our work possible by your financial support.
