We’re Very Close to the Finish Line

November 30, 2011 -- The generosity of our readers to the challenge grant offered by the Northwest Health Foundation has been overwhelming. People from across Oregon and Washington have sent us contributions, and, for that, I am extremely thankful. However, we’re not there yet. In order to meet the $10,000 challenge grant, we still need to raise $2,400. I’m counting on your support to reach that milestone! Your contributions go a long way to help us provide the stories you count on every week.

The Lund Report has a far reach in the community. Not only do Oregon Live and Kaiser Health News republish our articles, but we’re about to enter a partnership arrangement with the Vancouver Columbian and the Salem Statesman-Journal – both of which have approached us because they value our news coverage.

Since I started The Lund Report – in April 2009 – our readership has continued to go up. Our latest results from Google Analytics indicate that more than 22,000 people read our stories last month.

You won’t find articles in The Lund Report anywhere else because we tackle the tough issues -- reporting on the leadership shake-up at Regence BlueCross BlueShield and the investigation into the On The Move program, which was designed to move people from nursing homes into foster-care settings. And we’re closely following the development of the coordinated care organizations under way in Oregon that will dramatically transform our healthcare system.

Help us reach our goal by making a tax-deductible contribution online or by sending a check to The Lund Report at PO Box 82841, Portland 97282.

Because we’re a non-profit recognized by the IRS, your donation is considered tax-deductible, and I’ll be pleased to send you a letter with our Federal Tax Identification Number for your records.

The Northwest Health Foundation believes in what we do. That’s why they’ve offered us a $10,000 challenge grant.

Show us that you value our work by making a contribution today!
As you well know, I am deeply committed to this endeavor and believe The Lund Report can make a difference and help reshape our healthcare system.

Our dollars are spent on professional journalists and web technology, and no one has an expense account. As editor, I have refused to accept a salary or any other compensation. None of your donations will end up in my pocket.

I built The Lund Report on my passion to tell the truth, refusing to yield to corporate interests. That’s why I depend on the support of you – our readers. Your continued support is vital to our success.

Everyone deserves to have access to the latest information about our complex healthcare system. That’s why The Lund Report doesn’t charge a subscription fee or accept advertisements. And, you can be assured that we never will.
