Is A Single Payer Health Plan The Solution?

On July 13, Oregon Health Forum takes a deep dive into the Medicare for All Plan advocated by Bernie Sanders that’s likely to be discussed at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
June 27, 2016

We’re just a few weeks away from the Democratic National Convention, and Bernie Sanders may no longer be in the running, but his presence will certainly be heard.

What’s likely to happen to his Medicare for All Plan, and what’s the future look like for a single payer health system in Oregon now that the Oregon Health Authority has commissioned an in-depth study to probe into the pros and cons?

That’s the topic of Oregon Health Forum’s breakfast forum on July 13, in collaboration with Oregon Physicians for a National Health Program.

You’ll hear from:

  • Sen. Michael Dembrow, D-Portland
  • Chris Lowe, Bernie Sanders campaign
  • Dr. Samuel Metz, Oregon Physicians for a National Health Program.

Our moderator will be Tim Nesbitt, columnist for The Oregonian, and other panelists will be announced shortly.
