Jim Walton Rejoins Regence

He’ll become vice president of sales in early June

Jim Walton is returning to Regence BlueCross BlueShield in early June, after leaving the health plan to become the chief operating officer and vice president at KPD Insurance, a brokerage firm in Eugene, a position he held since January.

At KPD, his role was to generate profit and growth for the organization and manage the sales process through producer recruitment training and sales management.

In making the announcement, Angela Dowling, president of Regence and chief business development officer for Cambia Health Solutions, its parent company, said:

“I am pleased to announce that Jim Walton will be rejoining Regence as our new vice president of sales, in place of Rich Adams who has accepted a position with OmedaRx. Jim is a long-time valued employee who briefly left us in January for a producer position. As a former Regence director of sales he possesses a comprehensive knowledge of our organization and industry. Please join me in warmly welcoming him back to our team. Jim’s first day will be in early June. “

Walton joined Regence in September 2007 and was rResponsible for all new group, individual, and Medicare sales in Oregon. He also oversaw the small group retention market and sales operations for its Oregon plan.

Since 2010, Walton’s also been on the board of Make a Wish Oregon, which grants over 180 wishes across the state for seriously ill children up to age 18.

He’s had previous stints at TOC Management Services, myHealthBank and PacifiCare.
