Forum Focuses on Healthcare Work Force Challenges

What does the future look like for Oregon’s healthcare work force? What challenges and opportunities lie ahead with the changes in healthcare delivery and the work force shortages?

Oregon Health Forum, in collaboration with SEIU Local 49 explores those probing questions when it holds a breakfast forum March 31. The event gets underway at 7 a.m. at the Multnomah Athletic Club.

Our moderator, Patricia Scruggs, president of Scruggs & Assocaites LLC, has developed more than 70 work force development plans that have leveraged the resources of private and public sector partners, Around the country, she’s continued her innovation and entrepreneurial services assisting state and regions, including work on rural equity capital for the Ford Foundation’s Wealth Creation in Rural America.

The panelists include Dr. David Pollack, chair of the Oregon Health Care Workforce Committee; Dr LeAnn Maupin, dean of OIT Health Arts and Science and Charissa Raynor, executive director, SEIU 775 Benefits Group.
