The Corvallis Clinic is losing its CEO, Andrew Perry, as of Oct. 10, and its board of directors has launched a national search for his replacement.

Perry, 46, has accepted a similar position at the MacFarland Clinic in Anes, Iowa. He assumed the helm in Corvallis in 2005, succeeding Dr. Ralph Prows, who's now the CEO of the Oregon Health CO-OP.

With more than 75 physicians, the Corvallis Clinic is independent, and considered the major provider group in Linn and Benton counties.

In an interview with the Corvallis Gazette Times, Perry said, his new position is very similar to his current job, and is multi-speciality in approach and also independently run. However, the MacFarland Clinic is considerably larger, with 200 physicians.

“It represents a fairly significant professional opportunity to advance and to further my career,” Perry told the newspaper.

In a written statement, Dr. Nick Benton who chairs the board of directors, said, “It's sad to lose Andrew because he's been great to work with. But you never want to stand in the way of someone with Andrew's experience moving on in their career.”

Perry also told the newspaper that he's proud of three accomplishments during his nine year tenure at the clinic –  the establishment of an ambulatory surgery center for outpatient procedures, the implementation of an electronic health records system and a change in workplace culture that reduced a once-high turnover rate to less than 10 percent.

“Our employee turnover rate has been an industry leader for the last few years,” he said. “We’re very proud of that.”
