Congressman Blumenauer to Discuss Future of Mental Health Funding

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how mental health and addiction funding could be impacted if the Affordable Care Act is repealed at our May 31 breakfast forum.
May 19, 2017

Even though the effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act still needs to make its way through the U.S. Senate, the final version could have a huge impact on mental health and addiction services which are considered essential benefits that health insurers must cover.

That’s what Congressman Earl Blumenauer will be discussing when he headlines the Oregon Health Forum breakfast on May 31.

Along with the Congressman, local officials will take a look at what it takes to meet the growing needs of the poorest mentally ill in Oregon. Currently, the coordinated care organizations and county agencies are devoting resources to develop a more integrated delivery of mental health resources.

Our panelists will also tackle the questions of who’s responsible for delivering mental health care, and how to reduce administrative costs so funds can be directed to mental healthcare and addiction interventions.
