Children’s Center supports children and families experiencing suspected physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. They are a private, non-profit center providing trauma-informed medical assessments, forensic interviews and family support services to help children and caregivers find a path toward healing. Children’s Center is nationally accredited, a member of the Oregon Network of Child Abuse Intervention Centers, and made the 2017 list of 100 Best Nonprofits to Work For in Oregon. Their mission is to protect abused and neglected children and prevent child abuse.
The Family Support & Clinical Outreach Specialist provides crisis counseling, education and on-going information and referral for caregivers struggling with the issues of child abuse or neglect. This position plays an important role in our multidisciplinary team approach to the evaluation of suspected child maltreatment by working in partnership with medical examiners, interviewers and local investigative agencies. This position also collaborates with the Prevention Education Team to provide child abuse outreach and education in Clackamas County. Critical to this position is the ability to provide bilingual/bicultural specific services to the clinic and the Spanish-speaking community.
