The Governor’s office is appointing a new advisory committee to take a deep dive into Oregon’s health insurance marketplace.

Once the Senate gives its okay in February, its members will include:

  • Ken Provencher, CEO of PacificSource Health Plans,
  • Dan Field, senior director of community benefit and external affairs at Kaiser Permanente,
  • Shonna Butler, independent life and health insurance agent,
  • Cynthia Condon, information and technology executive,
  • Shanon Saldiver, an insurance broker with Farmers Insurance,
  • Joe Finkbonner, executive director at the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board,
  • James Houser, co-chair of Main Street Alliance of Oregon,
  • Jesse Ellis O’Brien, policy director at OSPIRG,
  • Lora Lawson, a registered nurse from Gold Beach,
  • Joe Enlet, senior health policy analyst with Multnomah County Health Department and
  • Claire Tranchese, a training and development manager at Oregon Primary Care Association.

The committee is expected to provide guidance and feedback on issues affecting the marketplace such as outreach, customer feedback and insurance plan affordability, according to Jake Sutherland, spokesman for the Oregon Insurance Division.

Its 13 members represent insurers, insurance producers, navigators, healthcare providers, businesses, consumer advocacy groups, enrollees in health plans and medical assistance agencies.
