About the DoctorsShawn McCann MD
Dr. Shawn McCann believes restoration of your optimal health is best served with a functional approach to uncover the underlying reasons for your current health challenges. ‘It is important to take the time to listen to all our patient’s health concerns. We will then look for and treat the cause(s), not just treat the symptoms with drugs as so often occurs in medicine’. Dr. McCann received his medical degree in 1995 from Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. After internship he went on to serve in the US Air Force Medical Corps for 3 ½ years. Upon completion of his commission he was honorably discharged, completed residency training in Family Medicine through the UC Davis network in Modesto, CA and went on to became Board Certified in Family Medicine. This was then followed by 2 more years of training in Palliative Medicine in San Diego, CA as a clinical/research fellow. Since completion of training Dr. McCann has worked in various primary care locations including North Carolina, Louisiana and Queensland Australia before settling in Portland OR in 2014. Additionally he is certified in the Bredesen Protocol. Along the way Dr. McCann has developed a strong appreciation for the uniqueness of each individual and the complexity of health and brain matters.

Dr. Lawrence Nelson is dedicated to helping his patients move toward optimal health. Dr. Nelson is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist practicing in Portland, OR since 1981. He graduated in 1974 from the University of California, Berkeley before receiving his Doctorate from Western States Chiropractic College in 1981. Dr. Nelson is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of whiplash, concussion, brain injury, memory care and other brain based problems. He is proactive in the prevention of neurodegenerative disease and promoting brain health and longevity.
