Some Oregon schools are now requiring masks this fall, and the CDC is recommending that people in most parts of the country wear face coverings indoors in public places.

The Oregon Health Authority promised equity in vaccine distribution but people in wealthier ZIP codes are far more likely to have been vaccinated than in poorer areas.
Conditions in the jail make it very challenging to stop the virus. Inmates have been given basic cloth masks to wear, and haven’t been vaccinated yet.

In Portland and Salem over the weekend, hospital providers held COVID-19 vaccination clinics for thousands of home health care workers and others not affilitated with hospital systems who risk becoming infected.
