The endeavor is being spearheaded by the Marion County Health Department with a generous grant from Kaiser Permanente.

The health insurance plan and hospital system intend to create a new umbrella company that allows for integrated care while maintaining distinct corporate structures in the two halves of the new company. Approval of the deal is expected by early summer.

The clinic will take all comers but fill a special niche by tailoring its mission to the LGBTQI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning and intersex) population and attempt to holistically treat both physical and psychological ailments. Cascade will also move its sexually transmitted disease screening clinic when the new clinic opens.
