Controversial deal spiked between Coos Bay hospital, Tennessee firm

Following a community uproar and leadership turnover, Bay Area Hospital has announced that a for-profit company owned by private equity, Quorum Health, has pulled out of a deal to run the financially struggling hospital. The publicly owned facility is the largest hospital on the Oregon coast.
