Rep. Kathleen Taylor (D-Milwaukie) today applauded Gov. Kate Brown for signing House Bill 2546 into law. The bill, which passed overwhelmingly in both the House and Senate, bans the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors and applies the Indoor Clean Air Act to e-cigarettes.
The Multnomah County Commissioners today unanimously voted to restrict e-cigarettes and vaping to protect children and public health.
Currently, Oregon is one of only nine states that allow minors to purchase electronic cigarettes and there are currently no restrictions on where electronic cigarettes can be used. That will change under House Bill 2546, which was approved by the Oregon House of Representatives this morning.
