Wyden Statement on Latest CBO Score of Trumpcare

May 25, 2017

Senate Finance Committee Ranking Member Ron Wyden, D-Ore., today issued a statement following the release of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score of the American Health Care Act (AHCA), also known as Trumpcare:

“The score may have changed, but the story stays the same: higher premiums, worse care for kids, seniors and working Americans, all to pay for tax breaks for the wealthiest,” Wyden said. “Republicans still aren’t offering a bill that helps Americans who need affordable health care, and now they’re ditching basic insurance standards and allowing discrimination against people with pre-existing conditions. This score should be a clear message to Senate Republicans that it’s time to quit making cosmetic changes to a dangerous bill and instead work with Democrats to improve the health care system.”
