WHAT:                 The Wallace Medical Concern (WMC) will host a “homeless health day” for Gresham-area low-income and homeless individuals and families, on Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, the event will offer a variety of health and personal services for homeless adults and children free of charge, including: urgent care and medical exams; dental care; health insurance enrollment; showers; haircuts; and connections to community resources. Volunteers will provide a photo booth and face-painting for kids. A hot meal will be served between 1:00-2:30 p.m.; hot beverages will also be available.

WHO:                   The event will be hosted by WMC in partnership with Human Solutions. Medical services will be provided by volunteer medical professionals from Kaiser Permanente. Medical Teams International and Northwest Mobile Hygiene, LLC will provide dental services. Other event partners include Project Access Now (insurance enrollment), Hands of Favor (haircuts), Oregon SNAP and OnSemiconductor (event volunteers).

WHERE:               Human Solutions Winter Family Shelter: 16141 E. Burnside Street, Portland, OR 97233.

WHEN:                 Tuesday, January 19, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WHY:                    In addition to offering hard-to-access services for those with barriers to health care, the event will introduce homeless individuals and families to WMC, a primary care home for ongoing pediatric and family medical care. WMC opened its second clinic location in Gresham at 254 NW Burnside Road in December, 2015.
