(Portland, OR) – The Unity Center for Behavioral Health, a proposed dedicated psychiatric Emergency Room, tops the agenda at the Friday, March 6 meeting of Health Share of Oregon’s Community Advisory Council. The meeting, which begins at 12:30 pm, will be held at Health Share’s offices at 2121 SW Broadway, Suite 200 in downtown Portland.
Dr. Tony Melaragno, vice president of behavioral health at Legacy Health, will give an overview and update on the project, which is a partnership of Health Share founding members Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health and Oregon Health & Science University. Slated to open in late 2016, the Unity Center, the first comprehensive behavioral health care center in Oregon, will be located at Legacy's Holladay Park campus in North Portland, following renovations.
Other updates at the March Council meeting include an update from the Ride To Care Transit Advisory Committee on the first 60 days of the non-emergency medical transportation broker, as well as updates on other Health Share activities and news from Janet L. Meyer, CEO of the Coordinated Care Organization.
The meeting is open to the public and Health Share members are encouraged to attend.
