The Trauma Intervention Program of Portland/Vancouver is conducting a training academy in January of 2018 for people interested in becoming a volunteer. TIP is the winner of Portland's 2017 Spirit of Portland Award as Community Group/Organization of the Year.
TIP is a group of specially trained citizen volunteers who provided emotional first aid, practical support and resources to victims of traumatic events and their families in the first few hours following a tragedy. In 2016 TIP responded to 2,838 scenes of tragedy in the Portland/Vancouver area.
