Advantage Dental is saddened to announce the passing of our CEO, Thomas S. Tucker, DMD, on Saturday August 13, 2016 following complications from a serious health condition. We have lost a dear friend and valued colleague. Dr. Tucker was a part of the Advantage Community since 1999, serving on many committees and as a Board Member until his transition to CEO in 2015.
Dr. Tucker graduated from the University of Oregon School of Dentistry in 1978, and served actively in the U.S. Army as a Captain until 1982. Dr. Tucker also served in the Air National Guard as a Colonel until 2006. He received numerous commendations and promotions while serving in both branches of service. In addition to his military service, Dr. Tucker owned a private dental practice in Klamath Falls, Oregon from 1982 until his retirement from general dentistry in 2015. Dr. Tucker and his wife Chris raised their family in Klamath Falls and he was considered by many to be a pillar of the community.
Dr. Tucker held positions in many community and professional organizations including Trustee of the Oregon Dental Association, Delegate of the Oregon Dental Association House of Delegates, a member of the Dental Foundation of Oregon Board of Directors, Dental Division Fundraising Chair for the United Way, Klamath Falls City Schools Board Member, and coach for several of his children’s youth sport teams. Most recently, Dr. Tucker served on the Advantage Dental Board of Managers, the Cascade Health Alliance Board of Governance, the Dental Foundation of Oregon Board of Directors and as a Trustee for the Oregon Dental Association.
Dr. Tucker had a positive, professional impact on those around him. His influence and experience had a profound impact on the Company. He will be greatly missed by everyone who worked closely with him including the employees of Advantage Dental who greatly valued his leadership and passion for service. Our deepest sympathy and condolences go out to his family.
