TAO Holds 8th Annual Meeting and Summit Rapidly Changing Pace of Telemedicine – Are You Keeping Up?

The Telehealth Alliance of Oregon will hold its 8th Annual Meeting and Summit at the Salem Convention Center, Salem Oregon. This year’s meeting will focus on the rapid changes taking place in telemedicine in Oregon and nationwide.

Conference attendees will get the opportunity to hear about new policies and proposed legislation that will remove barriers and expand growth of telemedicine in Oregon; improve their understanding of the HIPAA security and HITECH rules as they affect the practice of telemedicine; and learn what is new in telehealth in Oregon, including consumer focused telehealth, unique programs, telehealth across county and state borders, and new opportunities to use telehealth

Keynote speakers are:

Alan Pitt is Attending Physician and Professor at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Over the past two decades Dr. Pitt has worked at the nexus of computers and medicine. He believes that aligning patients with the right person at the right time, can replace fear and anxiety with reassurance, and prevent unnecessary system costs.

Jeffrey Kaye is the Layton Endowed Professor of Neurology and Biomedical Engineering at Oregon Health and Science University. He is the Director of the Oregon Center for Aging and Technology (ORCATECH) and Director of the NIA - Layton Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease Center.
