Statement from Kaiser Permanente on Yesterday’s Tragedy

December 13, 2012

December 12, 2012 -- Yesterday we were all shocked and saddened by the tragic events at Clackamas Town Center. Unfortunately, today we’ve learned that one of the victims was a member of the Kaiser Permanente family.   Cindy Yuille, who worked as a nurse on our hospice care team, was one of the two shooting fatalities in the incident. Cindy worked at Kaiser Permanente for 16 years. Cindy’s husband is also a nurse on our hospice care team.   Cindy was a beloved caregiver for the kind and compassionate support she provided for patients and families at times of impending loss and need.   Our hearts are with Cindy’s husband and family as they absorb this tragedy and grieve. We ask that you respect the privacy of the family at this most difficult time.   We also know that co-workers are mourning Cindy’s loss. Kaiser Permanente has made available counseling services to employees as they struggle to accept this heartbreaking loss.
