Statement on Brown's top staffers juggling conflicts of interest

December 14, 2016

SALEM-The Willamette Week has revealed two of Oregon Gov. Kate Brown's top staffers, both former lobbyists, are running the governor's office while juggling potential conflicts of interest. The Senate Republicans Office offers the following statement:

"Gov. Kate Brown talks a lot about accountability and lobbying reform, but her office doesn't seem to live up to her own rules. Her seeming 'do as I say, not as I do,' attitude isn't going to fly with Oregonians who expect their elected officials to be prudent and transparent. At the very least, the reports of potential conflicts of interest among staff are raising eyebrows, and it confirms what one party rule and complacency can produce."
