On Thursday 02/04/2016 at 5:45 PM at the Gladys McCoy Building located at 426 SW Stark St. Portland, Oregon, 97204 10th Floor Conference Room, the Community Health Council Executive Committee will hold a Special Meeting with all the governing board known as the Community Health Council (CHC) to permanently remove/expel a committed community voting member and last year's 201 5' CHC Chair-Person. This is an open meeting to the public per Oregon Public Law.
A group of concerned citizens will be present to voice concerns regarding what appear repeated violations of CHC By-Laws and violations of Oregon Public Law.
Including, perceived conflicts of interests with Multnomah County Health Staff violating Roberts Rules of Order in voting to place a new CHC Chair-Person for 2016, and appears employed by Multnomah County. Community members have written letters to the Health Department leadership and to Multnomah employed staff designated to support the development of the CLIC. Some community members that attend on a regular basis for months, followed application protocols yet have been denied acceptance into the board and not allowed to participate as voting members. Other community members have submitted applications to enter the governing board are forgotten and not contacted. Community members have reached out to legal counsel for advice and have researched Oregon Public Law.
It is the hope of community members who are also past and present clients of Multnomah Health Clinics that volunteer their time to attend monthly open meetings be respected. Community members want to feel included in a process that is for the best development of services at community health clinics, and not a council that is for only serving the special political interests of Health Department leadership or staff. It is the hope of community members willing to participate on their own time to have inclusion, a voice and a vote in this community governing council. https:(/mtlltco.us/health/councils-and-advisory-boards/community-health-eouneil
