School-Based Health Center Workgroup Meets Nov. 25

What: The third and final meeting for a workgroup – as mandated by HB2445 – to develop recommendations for:

--Optimizing the effective and efficient use of school-based health centers (SBHCs) by coordinated care organizations, including effective coordination of care and reimbursement;

--Ensuring the coordination and disclosure of protected health information by SBHCs in accordance with ORS 414.679; and

--Developing financial incentives described in ORS 413.225 (4).

The legislation requires the Oregon Health Authority to report on the progress of the workgroup to a health-related interim committee on or before Dec. 31, 2013.

Agenda items include: review of proposed recommendation related to care coordination and reimbursement; and development of recommendations for the use of the financial incentives. This is a public meeting.

When: Monday, Nov. 25, 1-5 p.m.

Where: Portland State Office Building, Room 1D, 800 NE Oregon St., Portland.

Who: As outlined in the legislation, the workgroup consists of representatives of medical sponsors of SBHCs; local public health authorities; school-based health center coordinators or staff; schools using SBHCs; coordinated care organizations; and the Oregon Health Authority.
