WHAT: This is the 20th Anniversary of Safe Kids Day at the Zoo - a fun family event to celebrate kids, help families learn about how to prevent injuries, and how to take simple steps to make their kids safer. Children and parents will participate in fun games and activities while learning how to stay safe on the road, in the home and at play.  https://www.safekids.org/safekidsday.  Providence Children's Health is sponsoring the bike helmet distribution this year.  Bike helmets will be available at no cost for the first 900 participants with a completed passport.

WHY: Around the world, a million children die each year from preventable injuries. Millions more are injured in ways that can affect them for a lifetime. In fact, preventable injuries are the number one cause of death for children in the United States.
