Riding the Waves of Change: Oregon Organizations Collaborating to Improve Healthcare

March 24, 2017

It is easy to liken the evolution of priorities in healthcare to an ocean tide where each wave brings new regulations and guidelines that hospitals must scramble to meet. There is a point where a retreating wave and a new wave intermingle, where remnants of the old blend with the new, bringing a sense of familiarity with the fresh incoming wave. That is where the healthcare industry stands now. While hospitals continue to struggle with familiar challenges like adoption and efficiency of EMR’s and strengthening security protocols, fresher topics related to creative approaches for managing population health and the potential funding changes proposed by the “World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017" have dominated recent headlines.

Attend the HiMSS Oregon Annual Conference on May 10, 2017 at the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland to hear how national and local organizations are collaborating to try to manage the surge of waves that may break in the next year. Presentations include a “State of the State” report from the Oregon Health Authority; an analysis of evidence-based security from Sumit Sehgal, CTO at Intel Security; and a Healthcare Leadership Panel discussing their recent lessons learned. In addition to the general sessions, there will be multiple breakout sessions, including lectures and expert panels that will share insights on Population Health, Security, and Nursing Informatics. Bring your questions and join us for an interactive and informative conference. Registration includes lunch and a networking reception with appetizers served.
