November 5, 2013

Registration is now open for the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific’sClimb For Clean Air mountaineering and fundraising program. Participants have their choice among climbing three of the region’s most prominent peaks: Mt. Hood (Oregon), Mt. Rainier (Washington) and Mt. Adams (Washington).

The program is designed to give participants all of the training, technical support and guide services needed to summit these magnificent mountains safely. Since 1988, Climb For Clean Air has been available to people of all levels of ability who are ready to take on the challenge of summiting a mountain.

“I am thrilled to be a part of this inspiring program,” said Stacy Allison, Honorary Chair and local legendary mountaineer. “There is nothing more breathtaking than standing at the top of a mountain. The feeling of personal achievement is incredible.”

The 2014 climbing schedule is as follows:

  • Mt. Hood (Oregon): June 24-25 and June 26-27, 2014
  • Mt. Rainier (Washington): July 13-16, July 20-23 and July 27-30, 2014
  • Mt. Adams (Washington): August 6-7, 2014

Funds raised by participants will support the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific’s mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. As part of their training, participants receive personalized, one-on-one, fundraising support.
