July 15, 2013 – Project Access NOW announces the addition of Dianne Danowski Smith, Brenda Durbin, and Amalia Alarcón Morris to its Board of Directors. Dianne Danowski Smith has spent more than 24 years in health care marketing and public relations and is currently Vice President of Publix Northwest Public Relations and Public Affairs. Ms. Danowski Smith earned a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Oregon. She has held several leadership positions as a member of the Public Relations Society of America and has been a volunteer member of Project Access NOW’s Marketing and Development Committee for the past four years. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Oregon Bioscience Association. Brenda Durbin has been the Director of Clackamas County Social Services since 2007. Prior to her appointment as Director, she was the Administrative Services Manager for the agency. Ms. Durbin earned a degree in history from Northwestern University and has worked in the social service arena for 15 years. She is a board member of Social Services of Clackamas County and the Workforce Investment Council of Clackamas County. Ms. Durbin has also held leadership positions in two statewide associations, serving as Chair of the Community Action Partnership of Oregon and Treasurer of the Oregon Association for Area Agencies on Aging and Disability. Amalia Alarcón Morris has spent almost 30 years working with under-served and under-represented communities to improve access to community services, health care, and the political process. After several years managing the Metropolitan Human Rights Center and the Neighborhood Resource Center for the City of Portland and Multnomah County, Ms. Morris was appointed to her current position as Director of Portland’s Office of Neighborhood Involvement by Portland Mayor Tom Potter in June of 2006, making her the first Latina Bureau Director in Portland’s history. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Raphael House.
