Press Release: PacificSource Health Plans Hires Three Additional Medical Directors
PacificSource Health Plans has hired medical directors Mimi McDonnell MD, Laura Pennavaria MD, and Mark Buchholz, MD, to support the organization’s upcoming Medicaid services expansion. PacificSource provides its Medicaid services through PacificSource Community Solutions, a Coordinated Care Organization (CCO), and beginning January 2020 will continue to provide CCO services to Central Oregon and the Columbia Gorge, as well as new regions in Lane, Marion, and Polk Counties.
“We have been very fortunate to have attracted to our community these three wonderful physicians,” said PacificSource chief medical officer and executive vice president Dr. Edward McEachern. “Their individual and combined experience will be invaluable to serving the health care needs of our members.”
Dr. Laura Pennavaria received her MD degree from the University of California and is Board Certified in Family Medicine. In her spare time, you will find her fishing, camping, cycling, skiing, and cooking, and enjoying various adventures with her family.
Dr. Mimi McDonnell received her MD degree from UC Irvine and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, she loves running, coffee and the mix of nerdy science and social justice that is population health.
Dr. Mark Buchholz received his MD degree from the University of Washington, followed by a Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship in Denver. Outside of medicine, he enjoys running, biking, auto mechanics, web design, and spending time with his family
PacificSource Community Solutions will also provide support to its partner Legacy Health and their work in the Portland CCO managed by Health Share of Oregon.
