PacificSource Health Plans has hired Richard Blackwell as its Oregon director of government relations. In this role, Blackwell will direct PacificSource’s public policy, government affairs, and advocacy activities throughout the state.
“We’re very pleased to have Rick join our government relations team,” said Michael Becker, PacificSource’s vice president of government relations. “His deep working knowledge of legislative and regulatory policymaking, as well as political processes, will be a valuable asset to our ongoing efforts to support our members through health policy advocacy.”
Blackwell most recently served as the policy manager at the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, where he worked in a variety of legislative and regulatory policy roles since 2004.
Blackwell received his JD degree from Willamette University College of Law, and a BA in political science from Carroll College.
