A grand jury indicted a Portland podiatrist on multiple sex abuse charges this month.

Dr. Brian Bowen, 49, a foot doctor at Eastside Foot and Ankle, faces charges in separate incidents involving two adult women.

Last fall, a woman reported to Portland police that she had been fondled during a podiatry exam in May 2022. Another woman later reported an incident that took place in January 2023.

"After an extensive investigation spanning more than a year, the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office presented the case to a grand jury," the Portland Police Bureau said. On Dec. 6, Bowen was indicted on one count of sex abuse in the second degree and three counts of sex abuse in the third degree.

"This is an ongoing investigation, and the DA’s Office and Portland Police are asking any other patients who have had similar experiences with Dr. Bowen to come forward," PPB said. Mugshots are no longer released in most criminal cases in Oregon, but Bowen's photo is being released "in an effort to assist in locating any additional victims," PPB said.

Bowen works at the Eastside Foot and Ankle location at 1827 N.E. 44 Ave. in Portland.

On Dec. 15, a week after he was indicted, the Oregon Medical Board and Bowen signed an interim order, requiring that a trained chaperone be present for any exams or medical procedures he performs, pending completion of the Oregon Medical Board's investigation into his conduct.

Bowen started Eastside Foot and Ankle in 2012. The office has three providers working at their Portland and Gresham locations, according to their website.
