Portland, OR – The Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPA) announced it will hold a free community “Prescription Assistance Workshop” to connect uninsured and underinsured Portland residents with prescription assistance programs.
PPA is partnering with several local organizations including Project Access NOW, the Cascade AIDS Project, Answer 2 Cancer, Caring Ambassadors, One-in-Four Chronic Health and the Chronic Disease Coalition.
“The Partnership for Prescription Assistance exists to empower patients and to help them access to the important medications they need,” said Caitlin Carroll, a spokesperson for the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA), whose member companies sponsor PPA. “If you are uninsured or underinsured and facing barriers while trying to access your prescriptions, PPA is here to help by letting you know about your prescription assistance options.”
PPA brings together America's biopharmaceutical companies, doctors, patient advocacy organizations and civic groups to help low-income, uninsured patients get free or nearly free brand-name medicines. Since 2005, PPA has helped connect nearly 10 million patients to public and private patient assistance programs. The process is free, confidential and is easy to use for patients looking for assistance programs for which they qualify.
