The Oregon Nurses Association was founded in 1904 and is the professional association for nurses in Oregon. The Oregon Nurses Association is a professional association and labor union representing registered nurses. ONA’s mission is to advocate for nursing, quality health care and healthy communities. They are searching for a Nursing Practice Consultant (NPC). The position is based in the Professional Services (PS) Department, one of the program areas within Oregon Nurses Association (ONA). The PS Department provides services, to ONA members, which enhance and support nursing practice, research, and education. The major emphasis of the NPC role is the provision of consultation for nursing practice. This may include providing education and evidence/research based services to members of ONA, structural units such as cabinets, collective bargaining program representatives, and various external groups with which ONA has a membership function, liaison relationship, or active collaboration. The NPC must be knowledgeable of the Nurse Practice Act and all laws/rules that relate to the practice of nursing.
