Oregon Center for Nursing Celebrates 10th Anniversary

October 2, 2012 -- This year marks the Oregon Center for Nursing's (OCN) 10th anniversary. OCN celebrated this milestone at its annual fundraising breakfast, "Collaborate!" on September 19, 2012 at the Oregon Zoo. Attended by more than 225 nursing leaders and community stakeholders, the event raised over $95,000 to support the work of OCN to promote a robust workforce of well-prepared nursing professionals dedicated to providing care and leading change to meet the health needs of our communities.

October 2, 2012 -- This year marks the Oregon Center for Nursing's (OCN) 10th anniversary.  OCN celebrated this milestone at its annual fundraising breakfast, "Collaborate!" on September 19, 2012 at the Oregon Zoo.

Attended by more than 225 nursing leaders and community stakeholders, the event raised over $95,000 to support the work of OCN to promote a robust workforce of well-prepared nursing professionals dedicated to providing care and leading change to meet the health needs of our communities. 

“It was amazing to see so many nursing leaders gather together to celebrate OCN’s 10th anniversary,” said Mary Rita Hurley, Executive Director of the Oregon Center for Nursing. “The energy of this event will carry us through the next 10 years!”

Darlene Curley, MS, RN, Executive Director of the Jonas Foundation for Nursing Excellence spoke about Oregon’s national reputation for innovation, the role OCN has played in bringing together nursing leaders and its response to the changing landscape for nursing. OCN also debuted a video highlighting its commitment to collaboration and achievements over the past decade.  The video can be viewed on the OCN website at www.oregoncenterfornursing.org or OCN's YouTube channel.

Legacy Health System, Northwest Health Foundation and Providence Health and Services provided major sponsorship for OCN’s “Collaborate” celebration.
