Portland, Ore. – It’s open enrollment season and with all of the changes to the Health Insurance Marketplace coming in the next year, many people may have questions or are confused about what kinds of plans will work best for them. If you are living in the United States with psoriatic disease and need to apply for or change your health insurance plan, there are some important dates approaching.
The period to make changes to your Medicare health and drug plans begins on October 15, 2016 and ends on December 7, 2016. The period to apply, re-enroll or change your 2017 plan through the Health Insurance Marketplace begins on November 1, 2016 and ends on January 31, 2017. With the deadlines, confusing terms and lengthy forms, you may have questions.
The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF), offers a unique patient support center called the Patient Navigation Center. The center serves as a resource for patients to learn more about psoriatic disease, how to manage their condition and get answers to specific insurance and access-to-care questions. Throughout the open enrollment period, the Patient Navigation Center is offering free insurance Q&A sessions to help you understand your health insurance coverage and plan options.
By contacting us, you'll be matched with an NPF Patient Navigator, who will work with you one-on-one to answer all your questions. We’ll discuss how to compare your options, explain confusing terminology and help you get the most from your health insurance. Whether you’re looking to change your plan or better understand and utilize your current coverage, we can help!
