OCOM Clinic Open House: FREE Acupuncture, Herbal Tea and Wellness Seminars

WHAT: 
The Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) is offering complementary acupuncture treatments, herbal tea, meditation classes and wellness seminars on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the OCOM Old Town Chinatown campus.  Celebrate the OCOM Clinic Open House by experiencing the effectiveness of acupuncture.

WHY:
The World Health Organization has recognized Acupuncture as an effective method of health care for a variety of conditions including low back pain, hay fever, headaches, sciatica, neck pain, postoperative pain, hypertension and rheumatoid arthritis.

Nearly 40 percent of United States uses some sort of integrative medicine every year according to a National Health Interview survey. Visits to health care practitioners of any kind totaled $61.5 billion. 11.9 billion dollars of this was spent on integrative medicine providers including acupuncturists.  Over 3.1 million adults visited an acupuncturist in 2007.

All individuals living in the Portland metro area interested in experiencing acupuncture.      

WHEN:   
Saturday, October 12, 2013 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

10 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.:Complementary acupuncture treatments will be offered on a first-come, first serve basis.

10 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Complementary herbal tea tastings

10 a.m.: Complementary seminar: “Nourishing Destiny: Women’s Herbal Health”

10:30 a.m.: Complementary Qi Gong class (Qi Gong is a physical meditative exercise that relaxes the body and the mind).

11 a.m.: Complementary seminar: “Aging Gracefully --Supporting Children and Moms Through Chinese Medicine”

12 p.m.: Complementary Qi Gong class (Qi Gong is a physical meditative exercise that relaxes the body and the mind).
