Oregon’s Health CO-OP, a member-driven, non-profit, commercial insurance plan in Oregon, is pleased to announce the hiring of Rob Sumner as its new Director of Sales, effective September 1, 2014. Mr. Sumner will replace Bob Dickes who is returning to his home in Florida to pursue health care consulting, writing, and his non-profit school for children in the Dominican Republic.

Mr. Sumner brings over 35 years of experience and expertise in employee benefits, healthcare, and the insurance industry.  Most recently he worked as an independent insurance agent with Cascade Summit Insurance in Sisters, Oregon, certified as an agent to place business with the Oregon exchange. Prior to this, he held various senior executive sales positions with Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon, and he served as benefits manager for the Timber Operators Council.   Earlier in his career he was the vice president for corporate employee benefits with US Bancorp in Portland, and also held the role of director of human resources at SW Washington Hospitals and Good Samaritan Hospitals.

Mr. Sumner is an active community volunteer, serving on the Board of numerous youth organizations, as well as holding volunteer leadership positions with regional healthcare purchaser coalitions and benefits organizations.
