A new year creates more options for alcohol and other drug treatment at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in Oregon

February 14, 2015

PORTLAND, OR (Feb. 3, 2015) – Addressing an addiction problem can sometimes seem like an impossible task for individuals and their families, but starting in 2015, paying for world-class treatment in Oregon just got easier.

The highly esteemed Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation has expanded insurance coverage options for its comprehensive treatment of addiction facilities in Oregon. “This is in-line with our nonprofit organization’s mission to make our unique Springbrook in Newberg residential and Beaverton outpatient treatment programs as accessible as possible,” said Jan Vondrachek, vice president of the Pacific Northwest for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.

What is treated?

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation’s Springbrook and Beaverton facilities combine high quality clinical experience with innovative programs and evidence-based practices, to ensure everyone may get the help they need. Special services include residential and outpatient treatment for health care professionals, pain management, trauma, LGBTQ programming, residential detox, outpatient detox, assessment services, family programs, mental health, recovery management and support.

Nationally, the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation -- the largest nonprofit addiction treatment provider with 16 sites across the country -- is dedicated to continuous research and innovative treatment models that lead to recovery and support for other complex life issues beyond addiction.

More insurance options for treatment

This year has brought a number of new insurance payment options. The outpatient treatment facility at Beaverton now accepts Aetna, ComPsych, HealthNet, Moda Health, ValueOptions and United Healthcare, including Pacificare and United Behavioral Health.

The residential facility in Newberg, Springbrook, has also added Aetna to its insurance partners, as well as Security Health Plan, ComPsych and ValueOptions.

These new plans are in addition to long-term agreements that have been in place and are accepted at both sites: National EAP, PCMS, Recovery Counseling Services and Security Health Plan.

Please check with your insurance provider about specific Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation services in Oregon, as new plans are in negotiation and different plans have specific coverage for residential and outpatient treatment. Nationally, the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation has always used flexible systems for those who are insured but are out-of-network; since individual plans vary widely, people are encouraged to call 866-866-4662 and speak to a financial case manager. The case managers are dedicated to facilitating in- and out-of-network insurance coverage for patients. They are also able to help answer questions about residential and outpatient insurance coverage and, if appropriate, financial aid programs.
