TUALATIN, ORE. -- Meridian Park Medical Foundation is pleased to announce Peter M. York has been elected to its board of trustees. The Foundation advocates and raises funds for Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center, part of Legacy Health -- the largest local, nonprofit health care provider in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
York, a retired newspaper publisher, began his career in Klamath Falls, Oregon, after graduating from Oregon State University (OSU). As the publisher of the Longview Daily News in Longview, Washington, the newspaper was awarded the 2002 Newspaper of the Year by Suburban Newspapers of American. In 2007 he joined the North County Times in Carlsbad, California, a position he held until the paper sold in 2012. York is currently a member of the Lake Oswego Rotary Club and serves on the governing committee of his OSU fraternity.
The foundation also elected the following officers to its board of trustees during its meeting on June 1, 2017:

The foundation is currently raising funds in support of a Patient Care Expansion project. This $6.5 million capital campaign will increase Legacy Meridian Park's capacity to care for the growing South Metro community with a facility that supports high-quality patient care using the latest technology and best medical practices.
Legacy Meridian Park is the South Metro area's most advanced medical center. Specialty services include neurology, orthopedic surgery, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, cancer care, a nationally recognized stroke program, a nationally accredited breast health center and a chest pain center awarded the nation's first Gold Seal of approval in chest pain by The Joint Commission -- the nation's principal hospital accreditation agency.
