April 13, 2012 -- Clackamas County Health, Housing, and Human Services (H3S) announces the grand opening of its new integrated primary health care clinic. The Sunnyside Health and Wellness Center is located near Clackamas Town Center at 9775 Sunnyside Road, Clackamas. It boasts fully integrated medical, behavioral and dental
care services. It was built to help meet a significant and growing need in the county for primary care services

The Sunnyside Center will serve people with private insurance, Medicare coverage and Oregon Health Plan coverage, as well as people without insurance. The clinic is expected to serve 8,000 to 10,000 people per year.

“We are really excited about this new facility,” said Cindy Becker, director of H3S. “We know that there is a great need for physical, dental, and mental health services in our county. The Sunnyside Health and Wellness Center is an important step forward in increasing access to critical health services.”

The Sunnyside Center will integrate medical, dental and behavioral health services in one location to help ensure more efficient and effective care. Integrating health services has proven to result in much better health outcomes for patients.

Data and phone connectivity for the clinic is provided by Clackamas Broadband Express (CBX), a division of the Clackamas County Technology Services Department, via a high speed fiber network that encompasses much of the county. CBX is funded by a grant
through the Federal Broadband Technology Opportunities Program (BTOP) as part of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.

The county’s Beavercreek Integrated Clinic in Oregon City remains open, as does the clinic in Gladstone. Both school-based health centers (located in Canby and Oregon City) will also remain open. The Sunnyside Health and Wellness Center represents a significant expansion of health care capacity for Clackamas County.
